TOPIC: THE SUN STANDS STILL

TEXT: JOSHUA 10:6-13

Key Verse: "And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies" (Joshua 10:13a).

The sun and the moon are two different planets that move at different times. The sun is meant to shine throughout the day. This is to give light to the whole world. At an appointed time, the sun will set and the moon will come forth to rule the night. This is how it has been right from creation.

It will be very strange to see the sun rising at night or the moon coming up during the day. God has so arranged it that they do not clash because they have their various functions.

 In our text, something significant and miraculous happened. A man asked God to stop the sun from setting, and God answered! It was awesome, great and wonderful. God is still answering prayers of His people today. 

God can do all things. He has the power to change the course of nature to achieve His divine purpose in the life of His children.

As Christians, we should not hesitate to pray that the Lord would work in extraordinary ways on our behalf. We face many challenges and difficulties in this wicked and evil world.

Therefore, miracles are sometimes needed to fulfill His plan and purpose for our lives. Learn to trust and pray that He will do great wonders on your behalf.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You can do all things. Help me to trust You for solutions to all my problems.
