OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL  DATE: MONDAY MAY 13TH 2024 TOPIC: OLD SOLDIER MEMORISE: “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” - (Philippians 3:13) READ: PHILIPPIANS 3:12-15 (KJV) 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. MESSAGE: Many people dwell on their past achievements in the kingdom of God. They talk about the days the...

Rhapsody of Realities Daily Devotional*l Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD_ Monday, 13th May 2024 *PRAY FOR YOUR PASTORS* _Brethren, pray for us_ *(1 Thessalonians 5:25)* In the book of Acts, the Bible tells us how King Herod had the Apostle James put to death by the sword (Acts 12:1-2). He found that this pleased the Jews and he apprehended Peter also with a plan to have him killed. When James was arrested and killed, the church hadn’t understood the importance of intercession. Upon Peter’s arrest, however, they immediately realized that they had serious business to attend to. The Bible says *“…but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him”* (Acts 12:5). The church prayed without ceasing. They needed to have a change and they got it.  Sometimes, I wonder how many people pray for their pastors and leaders. It’s really important to do this. You have to pray for them because you need them. The Lord put them there to help you and train you in the things of the Sp...

Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria  Grace for Living Devotional  Monday May 13, 2024 TOPIC: THE POWER OF UNITY BIBLE READING: ECCLESIASTES 4:9-12 9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone 12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.   KEY VERSE: Can two walk together, except they be agreed. Amos 3:3   MEDITATION: Whenever there is a state or condition that manifests in singleness of purpose or agreement within a group of persons, unity is the outcome. Therefore, the power of unity among believers or a family is reflected in the strength of the combination or arrangement of parts of the union thus formed, and is strong when ev...

DAILY MANNA MONDAY MAY 13, 2024 FREE INDEED!    TEXT: JOHN 8:32-36 KEY VERSE: "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed" (JOHN 8:36). Thirty-four years after graduating from a university in the United States of America, a therapist called the school to say she cheated in the final exam. The institution did not revoke her degree. Instead, they asked her to write an article on integrity. Another woman who was being celebrated for a walk around the world confessed she did not deserve the honour because she rode in a truck for part of the trip. She said, "I shouldn't be remembered as the first woman to walk round the world when I cheated." These two persons were fully liberated from their sinful nature after receiving Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. They were no longer slaves to guilt that denied them joy and peace. When the Lord frees us from the power of sin at salvation, we receive boldness to go on to make necessary restitution...

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS  DATE: MONDAY 13TH OF MAY, 2024 THEME: A MOTHER'S TOUCH MEMORISE: A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother. Proverbs 15:20  READ: Proverbs 1:8-9 [8]My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: [9]For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. MESSAGE  Many teenagers have little respect for their mothers. This is probably because mothers are believed to be soft and easily accessible, while fathers are believed to be tough and usually unavailable. Sometimes, in order to command some respect or get a grip on a child, some women tend to yell, especially when they are stressed.  The Bible says that children should honour their fathers and mothers so that they can live long. If your mother is happy with you, I can assure you that your greatness is guaranteed. Most times, when she advises you, she has considered a situation from different angles to k...

CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH  THE LIVING WATER (January-December, 2024) DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE  DATE: Monday, May 13, 2024 TOPIC: KEYS TO ANSWERED PRAYER (V) MEMORISE       And whatever we ask we receive from Him because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight (1 John 3:22). READ: 1 John 3:16-23 [16]. By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  [17]. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? [18]. My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.  [19]. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.  [20]. For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.  [21]. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confid...

HIGHER EVERYDAY MONDAY MAY 13, 2024 LEARNING: ROUTE TO GREATNESS - 1 TEXT: DANIEL 1:1-4 MEMORY VERSE: "Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans" (DANIEL 1:4). It was Dereck Bok who said, "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance." A man's relevance to his world is directly related to his acquired skills and the value he adds to life. When anyone stops learning, he becomes less valuable and soon becomes undesirable. We cannot give to others what we don't have. J. F. Kennedy hit the nail on the head when he said, "Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education." The king of Babylon instructed Ashpenaz to select young men for training in the tongue of the Chaldeans from among the Jewish c...

Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria  Grace for Living Devotional  Sunday May 12, 2024 TOPIC: BEWARE OF THE GOSPEL YOU ACCEPT BIBLE READING: 1 TIMOTHY 1:3-6 3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, 4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. 5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: 6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;   KEY VERSE: Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience and of faith unfeigned. 1 Timothy 1:5   MEDITATION: A member of the church I attend planted some cassava stems in the open space in the compound she lives with other tenants. Two of the tenants insisted that she should uproot the c...

[2]Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. [3]For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. [4]Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
