TOPIC:

THE GREAT CONVERSION (I)

     However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand (Acts 4:4).

READ 

Acts 4:1-4

[1]. Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, 

[2]. being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 

[3]. And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. 

[4]. However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

EXPOSITION

      God's love for sinners is immeasurable. He desires that every soul repents of their sins and comes to the full knowledge of Jesus Christ. It is crucial that we understand the importance of conversion in the eyes of God. As Christians, we must take the first step towards repentance and conversion (Lk. 13:1-5). In today's text, the significance of conversion is seriously emphasised. The conversion of 5000 men in the Bible is a testament to the power of numbers. Have you won any souls for God? Remember, only God can convert a sinner. Our role as believers is to preach, teach and baptise in the name of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:18-20). How well are we fulfilling this obligation? Despite the challenges we may face in spreading the Gospel, we must remain steadfast in our mission. The Pharisees and Sadducees opposed the preaching of the Gospel, but the power of God prevailed. We must continue to herald the Gospel, trusting in God's ability to grant us success and victory. Let us cooperate with God and expect a great harvest of souls in Jesus' name. Remember, God's desire is for every sinner to repent and come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Let us be empathetic towards those who have not yet found their ways to God and continue to spread the Gospel with love and compassion.

PRAYER POINTS 

1. Lord, let great conversion of souls accompany our witnessing efforts, in Jesus' name.

2. Lord Jesus, give the Church the acumen to preach, teach and baptise in Your name, no matter the challenge.

3. Lord, let sinners realise their errors and make amends as they hear Your Word for the salvation of their souls, in Jesus' name.
