THEME: PROVISION THROUGH THANKS.    MEMORISE:  Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. 2 Corinthians 9:11 READ: John 6:11-13 11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. 12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. 13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. MESSAGE: There are many so-called praise songs that are not celebrating the beauty of God’s holiness and are thus unacceptable to the Lord. The sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving can produce abundant prosperity, according to our memory verse today. Let us consider prosperity through the sacrifice of thanks, as we see in ...

TOPIC: MERCY COMES WITH BLESSINGS TEXT: PSALMS 67:1-6 Key Verse: "God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us" (Psalm67:1).        The Judge finally found the worker guilty of stealing his employer's money. He was accused of betraying the trust that his employer had in him. He was to be sentenced to jail for three years.      However, he wept and pleaded with the Judge to consider his three little, helpless children and be merciful to him. He promised that he would pay the stolen money back. The Judge had mercy on him and decided to set the guilty man free.     God is merciful. He forgives sinners, not because they merit it, but because He is a merciful and loving God. The Lord does not only show mercy but He blesses children as well, if they truly repent. It is God's mercy that made Christ to die for us while we were yet sinners. It is mercy that makes Him to totally forgive and overlook our sins when we...

TOPIC: COMFORT FOR THE AFFLICTED TEXT: JOB 11:1-6 KEY VERSE: "Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?" (JOB 11:2). It is a truism to say that a man of wit and discretion is usually known by his few words. This is because, "In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise" (Proverbs 10:19). Through the opening of the mouth, the fool parades his folly but "He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise..." (Proverbs 17:27, 28). In the text under consideration, we see Zophar the Naamathite, one of the three friends of Job berating, chiding and blaming him for his calamities; claiming they were the direct result of his sinfulness and unrighteousness. No doubt, all that Zophar said about God and man was perfectly correct. He talks of God's righteousness, unlimited ...

WANTED BACK Read: Judges 11:1-10 [1]Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah. [2]And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman. [3]Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him. [4]And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel. [5]And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob: [6]And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon. [7]And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are...

Topic: Custodians Of Eternal Blessings Scripture: …I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). Message: The Christian is blessed in all things. He’s blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. In Genesis 12:2, God didn’t say to Abraham, “I will bless you and make you ‘lucky’”; rather, He said, “…I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.” This is what you need: the consciousness that you’re blessed and are a blessing! You’re empowered to be successful; the ability to prosper in all things has been invoked in your life; it’s inherent in you and works all the time. Everywhere you go, there’s favour. Your steps are always ordered of the Lord; you don’t go anywhere by chance, and you don’t go anywhere alone, for He’s in you and with you always. This is the heritage of the seed of Abraham. It worked for the physical descendants of Abraham— Is...

Topic: Ephesus: The Loveless Church(2) Fire Scripture Rev. 2: 1 -7 Memory verse Luke 15: 18-19 -I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servant. Outline This first letter to the Ephesians Church reveals some things about and the city of Ephesus itself. We learnt all these yesterday. The city of Ephesus had the temple of Diana, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. It was believed that Diana blesses her worshippers immensely. Hence, they recognised her as the goddess of prosperity. She was also the goddess of prostitutes that were ready to attend to anybody in the temple. Criminals who ran into the temple were considered to have escaped from punishment. Hence, immorality and crime were the order of the day. Imagine what that society would be like – a suffocating and sinful environment. The church and believers must do eve...

TOPIC: THE LAW OF THE SABBATH MEMORISE Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Exodus 20:8  READ: Genesis 2:1-3  Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. MESSAGE: The law of the Sabbath is not an end in itself but a means to an end and that is rest.  Rest is a divine blessing which God bestowed upon His creation, particularly mankind.  Even the land He gave man to inhabit must enjoy a sabbatical rest (Leviticus 25:2).  And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made Genesis 2:2. Rest is not just a commandment from God, but also an act of divine benevolence.  Exodus 20:8-11says:  Re...

TOPIC: DON'T BRING ABOMINATION TO YOUR HOUSE Read: Deuteronomy 7:25-26 [25]The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God. [26]Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing. MEMORISE: But the Israelites were unfaithful in regard to the devoted things; Achan son of Karmi, the son of Zimri, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of them. So the Lord’s anger burned against Israel. (Joshua 7:1). EXPOSITION We have heard of illegal duty, money, wife, occupation of a house, land, possession of firearms, etc. all of which attract punishments under the law. But the most illegal, heinous crime a man can commit is bringing idols to His house and serving them. That is why Exodus 2...

TOPIC: UNDER SIEGE FOR INIQUITY TEXT: Ezekiel 4:1-8 KEY VERSE: “And, behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.” - (Ezekiel 4:8) The word “D-day” is a military operation code used in warfare to indicate the date when a secret and surprising military operation or attack is set or bound to take place. Historically, it was formed from the name given to June 6, 1944, the day the British, US and other armies landed on the beaches of Normandy in Northern France, during the Second World War and routed the German Forces. A D-day for God’s judgment against Jerusalem for their iniquity was also proclaimed in the day of Prophet Ezekiel. He was instructed to lay siege against the city, build a fort against it, cast a mount against it, and set a camp and battering rams against it. He was also to lie on his left and right sides for the iniquity of the house of Israel for forty days. Each day was to represent ...
