CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH  THE LIVING WATER (January-December, 2024) DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE  DATE: Saturday, May 11, 2024 TOPIC: KEYS TO ANSWERED PRAYER (III) MEMORISE       You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures (James 4:3). READ  James 4:1-6 [1]. Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?  [2]. You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.  [3]. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.  [4]. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.  [5]. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealous...

DAILY MANNA SATURDAY MAY 11, 2024 NOTHING CAN CONQUER US KEY VERSE: “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (MATTHEW 16:18). MATTHEW 16:13-19 The Church of Christ has continuously fulfilled the Lord’s prophecy that it would experience a victorious march through history despite the antics of Satan and his agents. More than 2,000 years after our Lord projected this triumph for His kingdom, the body of Christ has recorded success after success. The Church has overcome world powers and empires, which worked to destroy the faith. She has survived the cruel machinations of pompous royalty that felt challenged by the more potent majesty of Jesus. She has defeated the combined forces of doctrinal dissent, false philosophy and hurtful ecumenical pursuits; all orchestrated by the devil throughout the centuries. Our Lord was aware that fierce spiritual and physical battles lay ahead of tho...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL  DATE: SATURDAY MAY 11TH 2024 TOPIC: HE HAS A PLAN FOR YOU MEMORISE: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” - (Jeremiah 29:11) READ: JEREMIAH 29:1-14 (KJV) 1 Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon; 2 (After that Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the carpenters, and the smiths, were departed from Jerusalem;) 3 By the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon) saying, 4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captiv...

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS  DATE: SATURDAY 11TH OF MAY, 2024 THEME: THE MAGIC WORD: THANK YOU  MEMORISE: First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. Romans 1:8  READ: Psalms 103:1-2 [1](A Psalm of David.) Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. [2]Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: MESSAGE  Most parts of the book of Psalms are an expression of gratitude from King David to God from his youth up until his old age. No wonder God referred to him as a man after His heart. The Yorubas have a saying that, "A child who says thank you for the good deed done to him yesterday will definitely receive another."  Thanksgiving is a good culture to imbibe now that you are still young. When relating with God, you should be grateful for all that you have received from Him. When sharing your testimonies about God's provision, protection, and support f...

Rhapsody of Realities Daily Devotional Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD_ Saturday, 11th May 2024 *ENERGIZING YOUR SPIRIT* _Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands_ *(2 Timothy 1:6)* ‭When Paul told Timothy to stir up the gift of God in him, he was referring to the power of the Holy Spirit—the dynamic ability to effect changes. This was the same power Jesus talked about when He said, *“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…”* (Acts 1:8). If you’ve received the Holy Spirit, that power resides in you. That power can however be dormant unless activated, and the quickest way to activate it is by speaking in other tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:4 says, *“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself....”* As you speak in other tongues, not only are you building yourself, you’re also energizing yourself in the supernatural; you’re stirring up divine power from within to effect c...

HIGHER EVERYDAY SATURDAY MAY 11, 2024 THE WICKEDNESS OF THE WICKED MEMORY VERSE: “Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins” (PSALM 7:9) BIBLE TEXT: PSALMS 7: 8-11  “It is a bad world, Donatus, an incredibly bad world. But I have discovered in the midst of it a quiet and good people who have learned the great secret of life. They have found a joy and wisdom which is a thousand times better than any of the pleasures of our sinful life. They are despised and persecuted, but they care not. They are masters of their souls. They have overcome the world. These people, Donatus, are Christians… and I am one of them.” The above quote is taken from the famous letter of Bishop Cyprian of Carthage to his disciple, Donatus. In the letter, he contrasted the characteristics of two groups of people living on this earth – the wicked and the righteous. The wicked are exceedingly wicked, darkened in conscience ...

CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH  THE LIVING WATER (January-December, 2024) DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE  DATE: Friday, May 10, 2024 TOPIC: KEYS TO ANSWERED PRAYER (II) MEMORISE       Do all things without complaining and disputing (Philippians 2:14). READ:  Philip. 2:12-18 [12]. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;  [13]. for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. [14]. Do all things without complaining and disputing,  [15]. that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,  [16]. holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.   Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria  Grace for Living Devotional  Friday May 10, 2024 TOPIC: LESSONS FROM JABESH GILEAD BIBLE READING: 1 SAMUEL 11:1-9; 31:8-13 KEY VERSE: All the valiant men arose, and went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Bethshan, and came to Jabesh, and burnt them there. 1 Samuel 31:12   MEDITATION: Ingratitude is likened to someone who has benefited from your large heart and kindness and turns around to burgle your house and carts away all your valuables. Sadly, quite a few in our churches fit into that mould of ingrates. They seem to forget so soon how they have been beneficiaries of grace and benevolence. They now boast of their strength and abilities.    The story of the people of Jabesh Gilead in today’s bible text calls our attention to remember the ‘bridge’ or ‘ladder’  we may have used to get to our present level or position – that we are all products of God’s grace and be...

DAILY MANNA FRIDAY MAY 10, 2024

DAILY MANNA FRIDAY MAY 10, 2024 BEYOND COMPREHENSION    TEXT: ISAIAH 40:12-18 KEY VERSE: "All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity" (ISAIAH 40:17). Bible scholars say ancient Jewish scribes and prophets worked with two writing implements. One was exclusively for writing only the name of God while the second writing tool was for the normal narrative. This was reportedly done by the custodians of the documents because God was respected for the ineffable honour that matched His incomprehensibility. Similarly, today's text hints at the extreme grandeur that surrounds the Almighty God. He created nothing as great as Himself. His works and acts perfectly point to His blazing glory. His creations are sobering, superlative, sweeping and sublime. When we consider them, we are called to stand in petrifying awe, bereft of words to capture His greatness in our limited human language. We can come to a close and faint understand...
