TOPIC: WHEN GOD'S TERROR ENTERS

BIBLE READING:

Joshua 2:8-11

MEDITATION:

Growing up in a remote riverine part of Southern Nigeria, where there were so many “white garment” churches, the prophets in these churches were popular and notorious in sending fears and chills down the villagers spines with their predictions and soothsaying; and some of those did happen and come to pass. However, from the late 70s when gospel revival crusades started to come into those villages, all the erstwhile prophets took cover and openly testified that the terror of the evangelists and revivalists had swept all of them underground. Every announcement or publicity of an upcoming crusade or outreach became their nightmare. Thank God, a number of them eventually trusted Jesus as their Saviour and Lord!

When Joshua sent spies to Jericho preparatory to the planned invasion and takeover of Jericho by the children of Israel, Rahab the harlot declared: “Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof, and said to the men: “I know that the LORD has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you.” God Himself sent his terror upon the whole land such that there was fear in every man, including the King and the soldiers. This is exactly what God does to all who will not let us walk into our inheritance in

God.

Are there challenges in your life or family or workplace that have constituted fear or terror in your heart? Trust God today to send His terror unto them.

BIBLE STUDY:

Psalms 94-96 & Romans 15:14-33
