TOPIC: THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN

Psalms 37:23-26

MEDITATION:

It is inherent in man to aspire to make progress in whatever he invests his time and skills. In the process of a clamour for success and achievement, people tend to explore different means of ideas and techniques, but true secret of advancement is in understanding of the will-of-God in our individual endeavours.

God promised, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye” – Psalm 32:8. God instructs, and orders the steps of the good man.

The year 2020 started as a normal one. Everyone was hopeful of successes and advancement. Nobody planned for a global pandemic that resulted in a lockdown that lasted over five months in Nigeria. Work plans, business expectations and advancements, educational and vocational dreams were all brought to a standstill. Even world powers were not spared. Nothing seemed to work while the pandemic lasted.

However, that same period was a time of advancement for some. The newnormal became a platform for the determined to excel, including churches that quickly adjusted to the creation of home cells and the use of social media. The virtual church became the vogue of the moment.

Psalm 127 states that “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it…” As much as we need to plan and strategize, we must remember that the secret of advancement is with God. When he orders our steps, success is sure.
