TOPIC: MY GAINS, I COUNT BUT LOSS

TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 3:7-12

Key Verse: "But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ (Philippians 3:7).

Jesus Christ paid the supreme price for our sin. He died on the Cross at Calvary to redeem us from sin and set us free from the judgment of God. Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we are set free from sin and the consequences of sin.

It is good for every believer to reflect on the love of Jesus and the price He paid for our sin. One of the greatest hymn writers, Isaac Watts, conveys this in his beautiful hymn, "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross".

"When I survey the wondrous cross,

On which the Prince of glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, And pour contempt on all my pride."

No man can ever pay back the sacrifice of Jesus for mankind. The whole riches in the world put together cannot match the precious blood that Jesus paid to purchase and redeem us.

Hence, nothing should be too precious for us to give to our Redeemer and Saviour. We should willingly dedicate our talents, abilities, time and all that we have for His use without holding back anything from Him.

Prayer: Lord, help me to surrender all that I have for Your glory.
