TOPIC: LAWS RULE THE WORLD
BIBLE READING:
Psalms 119:9-11
MEDITATION:
A Scottish Biologist, Henry Drummond, commented that in a place where natural law is non-existent, “reason would be impossible. It would become a lunatic world with a population of lunatics”. In other words, we should be thankful for the dependability of natural laws that the Creator has set in motion. They are of great benefits to us if we recognize and respect them, otherwise, we will suffer the consequences of their violation. For example, we cannot reap without sowing, thus the human race will be ravaged by hunger.
However, beyond natural laws, there are God's spiritual laws, such as giving and receiving; sin and death etc. The person who ignores God's standards and caters to sinful appetites can only expect destruction. So also the laws of nature. (2Tim. 3:16-17). The person who follows the laid down laws will reap good results.
The Bible makes it clear that it is only the doer of the word that is blessed. Apostle James says, “For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: …, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” (James 1:23-25).
God's laws never fail. For better or worse, you will reap what you sow.cLaws rule the world. It is therefore absolutely important that, we discover God and draw close to Him, by taking heed to His word or laws.
