TOPIC: ABOUNDING IN FAVOUR AND WISDOM

BIBLE READING:

Luke 2:46-52

MEDITATION:

According to Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men”. Our Lord Jesus Christ enjoyed favour and operated with wisdom. He was born into favour and grew in favour before God and men. Prophecies concerning His birth and times were fulfilled and fresh ones were released. Certainly, there would always be a difference between those with favour and those without favour.

The endowment with wisdom is actually the result of God's favour in the life of a man. Everything under creation works for those who are favoured of God. We need divine favour to lead us into divine abundance. This favour is indispensable, that even our Lord Jesus Christ could not do without it while on earth. It takes wisdom to manage wealth and success. (Prov. 4:7-8).

Jesus was favoured with the gift of wisdom, so much so that even doctors of philosophy were astonished at his understanding. (vs. 46). It is possible to enjoy the favour of God and operate in wisdom, if one asks God for it. (James 1:5). Solomon asked for wisdom and God granted him his desire. No wonder God honoured him with great wealth and abundance. (1Kg. 3:9, 12-13).

It takes a man of diligence and sincere quest for God, through the knowledge of His word, obedience and prayers to enjoy His favour and wisdom. There is nothing favour cannot accomplish in the life of a man, even in difficult challenging situations.
