TOPIC: REWARDS OF A TRUTHFUL LIFE
TEXT: 1 KINGS 9:1-5
Key Verse: "And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments" (1 Kings 9:4).
Jane was a friend of Jesus who attended a Government Secondary School. She was well known for her truthful lifestyle in her school and in the neighbourhood where she lived. Often times, she was persecuted by her schoolmates because of her honesty and truthfulness.
The school recently held a gathering together for some old students, Jane and three other girls were asked to tidy up the school hall where the event was held. While they were cleaning up, Jane found a purse containing a huge sum of money. She showed it to the other girls who said that it was a blessing from God, and that they should share the money.
Jane ignored them and gave the purse to the school Principal. The owner of the purse happened to be a wealthy woman. She was impressed by Jane's honesty, and offered her a scholarship for her College/University education.
God is happy when His children serve Him with integrity of heart. Despite the huge temple Solomon built for God, He still advised Solomon to walk with Him in integrity of heart like David, his father. It was only then that Solomon would enjoy all the promised blessings. Live a life of honesty and integrity to the glory of God.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be truthful in all I do.
