TOPIC: INTEGRITY

BIBLE READING:

Job 2:1-6

MEDITATION:

Integrity is adherence to moral and ethical principles; an un-impaired condition, and doing what you say you will do or being found to be true to who you say you are. What you profess should not be different from what you do. In 3 John:12 Demetrius was well spoken of by everyone because he was known to stand for the truth.

From verse 3 of our bible reading, we realise that Job maintained his integrity though his faith was tried and he suffered great loss. His trouble was such that his wife urged him to curse God and die – Job 2:9. In other words, put aside this principle you say you live by; God understands, take the short–cut; after all, everyone is doing it. However, we must choose the attitude that purposes not to join them because we can't beat them. We should not allow the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life to lure us into compromising what we stand for (1 John. 2: 16).

Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world any longer. Let's live our lives such that the truth can testify about us. The ways of God are not of the world. We are not to interpret things of the Spirit with the carnal mind. Spiritual things are interpreted by the Spirit (1 Cor. 2:13). We should not live our lives by the philosophies and wisdom of men but by the word of God (1 Tim 3:15-16).

Are you a man or woman of integrity? What can people say about you? What is your testimony among brethren, peer group, colleagues, neighbours and family members? God himself testifies to the integrity of Job. Let your integrity speak for you wherever you go.
